Neuromuscular Disorder

Neuromuscular Disorders (NMDs) are a group of medical conditions that affect the nerves that control voluntary muscles, the muscles themselves, or the communication between nerves and muscles. These disorders interfere with normal muscle movement, strength, and coordination.

Neuromuscular disorders can affect:

• Motor nerves (which send signals from the brain to muscles)
• Neuromuscular junction (where nerve signals meet muscle fibers)
• Muscle fibers themselves
