Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a non-progressive neurological disorder that affects movement, muscle tone, posture, and coordination. It occurs due to damage to the developing brain, usually before birth, during childbirth, or in early infancy. Although the brain injury does not worsen over time, the physical challenges may change as the child grows.
Cerebral palsy primarily affects motor control, but it may also be associated with sensory, cognitive, speech, vision, hearing, and behavioral difficulties. The severity of CP varies widely—from mild movement problems to significant physical disability.
